Rizky Chay pours out his aspirations on Instagram as “Kencana Wungu”. The name Kencana Wungu first came up because he yearns for the figure of a queen and was heavily inspired by Nyi Roro Kidul. With makeup like those of traditional Javanese dancers, Rizky Chay captivates the Instagram world.

Thanks to thousands of his followers in Kencana Wungu’s Instagram account, Chay was offered many roles to play in films and TV shows, and even MC gigs at birthday parties. What many people don’t seem to realize is that Rizky, was in fact, the man behind Kencana Wungu.

Instagram Head of Global Creative Development, Charles Porch, stated that their social media platform has approximately 700 million usernames, with 400 million active usernames in a month. Indonesia has the most active users in Asia-Pacific with 45 million users.

Instagram is a social media that gives its users freedom to express themselves through photos, pictures, videos, and motion. A caption underneath each post gives users space to tell more stories. Followers may leave a comment, like, and share the uploaded post. Instagram is not only a media to show off a user’s talent, but it can also expose their daily lives.

Transvestites may be suppressed by KPI to perform in national television, but Instagram has facilitated their freedom of speech and expression, for it remains a platform that has yet to be controlled by KPI.
